  Review : Please take time and go to this prestigious temple if you are not an vip because the panda takes fees for the entry in vip line.Some take 500,1000 and even 1500 for the vip line. It takes almost 3 hrs to enter the temple from the main gate in general public line. Please try to avoid Tuesday and Saturday as it gets more crowded at those days.

  Review : Almost all the priests over there are money lovers rather than being religious . If you are going then don't fall for the traps and don't listen to people over there. The temple is good and you will feel good inside the temple.

  Review : I recently visited Kalighat Temple, and it was a truly divine experience. The atmosphere was deeply spiritual, and to my surprise, I got the darshan very quickly and from up close. The energy of the place, the devotion of the people, and the presence of Maa Kali felt incredibly powerful. I feel blessed and grateful for this beautiful experience.   Review : The revamped Kalighat Mandir should be on a must visit list of everyone. The mandir looks very beautiful after renovation. Shoes can be kept outside. The pandas still create chaos inside the temple. They keep pushing people away even when the temple is empty. Management of queues is much better after renovation. No tickets are required to visit the temple. However people can buy vip ticket for bypassing the long queues. The crowd thins after 8pm. No need to stand in queue if you visit after 8 PM as hardly few visitors are there then.

It is believed that the toe of Sati fell at Kalighat, making it a powerful center of divine feminine energy. The current structure of the temple was built in the early 19th century under the patronage of the Sabarna Roy Choudhury family, who were zamindars during the British era. Kalighat also played a significant role during the Bengal Renaissance in the 19th century.
