Kaziranga National Park is a protected area in the state of Assam in northeastern India. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is particularly famous for its population of the Indian one-horned rhinoceros. The park is a sprawling expanse of tall elephant grass, swamp, and dense moist deciduous forests, crisscrossed by four major rivers, including the Brahmaputra, and the park also has numerous small water bodies. Kaziranga is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including tigers, elephants, wild water buffalo, swamp deer, and a variety of bird species, making it a significant biodiversity hotspot.
November to April. The weather is pleasant, and the vegetation is less dense, making wildlife spotting easier. The park is usually closed during the monsoon season (May to October) due to heavy rainfall and flooding.

The nearest airport to Kaziranga National Park is Jorhat Airport (JRH), also known as Rowriah Airport, which is about 97 km away. From the airport, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Kaziranga. Alternatively, Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati (GAU) is a major airport, about 220 km away, offering better connectivity.
Kaziranga is well-connected by road to major cities in Assam and neighboring states. National Highway 37 passes through Kohora, the main town near the park entrance. Regular buses and taxis are available from Guwahati, Jorhat, and other nearby towns.
The nearest railway station to Kaziranga is Furkating Junction (FKG), which is about 75 km away. However, it is not very well connected. Guwahati Railway Station (GHY) is a major railway station with better connectivity, from where you can take a train to Furkating and then hire a taxi or take a bus to Kaziranga.
